Interventional radiologists were injected with a contrast substance, and x-rays were obtained to allow them to see every lymphatic system feature. Although the conventional imaging technique was effective, hospitals had a difficult time managing the equipment and it took a lot of time. Imaging technology has recently advanced, making it simpler to view inside the lymphatic system. Due to its ease of use and high success rate, a method known as an intranodal lymphangiogram, which employs ultrasonic technology to reach the lymphatic system, has almost entirely replaced the conventional pedal lymphangiogram. The lymph node in the groin is directly accessible during the intranodal lymphangiogram under ultrasound guidance. The lymphatic vessels are injected with Lipiodol, an oil-based contrast agent, so that they may be seen under fluoroscopy (X-ray guidance). Similar to an intranodal lymphangiogram, but with the patient lying in a gadolinium-based contrast agent-filled MR (magnetic resonance or MRI) scanner. Superior imaging of the central lymphatic system is provided by this method. It offers images of the central lymphatic system's anatomical and physiological/dynamic components.
